Fog, Light and Lines IV

The Margaret Hunt Hill bridge opened in March of 2012. It’s 40 story arch has modern clean lines and can be seen for many miles. In February 2012 on a very foggy night, the bridge was captured devoid of traffic and signage. A recommended site to see during the day and night if you’re in Dallas

Back Story

Alarm was set for 2:30am for a shoot of the new bridge. While walking out the door, a heavy thick fog blanketing the area appeared. Thinking this would ruin the shoot, I walked back inside the house. After awhile, the decision was made to take a chance. So off to Dallas and the miserable drive ahead.

Drove around to see what best advantage points were available to capture this wonderful piece of new Architecture named the Margaret Hunt Hill bridge. I decided on 3 spots and began to set up my camera / tripod at each. It was difficult at best, due to moisture clouding up my lens. At the time, it was mostly likely none of the images captured would turn out.

Yet amazingly, quite a few were simply gorgeous! There is a series called Fog, Light and Lines that have won numerous awards; either individually or as a series. These images look best on Fomabrom 280g fiber based gelatin silver paper without a doubt!
