My Italy Travels

In 2011, I spent a wonderful month traveling around my beloved Italy. It was great driving through the mountains with a small car that was stick shift and diesel, as prices for petrol were high. And some roads were very narrow!

My trip started at Ostia on the Mediterranean, with short trips to Rome. From there I traveled along the coast down to Paestum to visit the Greek ruins. Then back up towards Tuscany to take in some sites and stay in a villa for a week.

Next I was off to Liguria where you find the famed Cinque Terre. I left early due to the horrific storm of 2011 heading in to Vernazza. Driving to Verona in a torrential downpour was no fun. Last but not least was my stay in Venice.

Italy is divided into Regions. While I haven’t listed all regions visited, the main ones are covered below.
